Microwave Absorbers - Wavexorb

Wavexorb advanced performance Microwave Absorber provide a means to reduce undesirable radiation that could interfere with electronic system operation or cause non-compliance. Available in a variety of material types and formulations, each material is designed to provide specific absorption characteristics. Wavexorb absorbers are formulated by combining silicone, nitrile, urethane, or foam matrix with magnetic and carbon filler materials. Available in sheet form, with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). 3G also fabricates wavexorb Microwave Absorbers into custom sizes, shapes, and configurations. Narrow Band

Narrowband Absorbers (also known as Tuned Frequency or Resonant Frequency Absorbers) are single layer materials that absorb radiation at a specified frequency range, typically within +/- 10% of the target frequency. Narrowband Absorbers can be custom formulated to target a frequency by changing the formulation and thickness, are considerably thinner than other types of absorbers, and are the preferred choice for applications where broadband absorption is not required.

Cavity Resonance

Cavity Resonance Absorbers are typically used in microwave cavity applications to attenuate oscillations, resonant frequencies or harmonics. These materials offer excellent attenuation at normal and high angles of incidence in the 1GHz to 20GHz range. Typically installed against a metallic substrate, Cavity Resonance Absorbers are made from silicone and are available in sheet stock or as application specific solutions.

Surface Wave

Designed to be applied to a conductive surface for traveling wave attenuation, wavexorb Surface Wave Absorbers are magnetically loaded elastomeric absorbers providing high loss characteristics. Surface Wave Absorbers have the ability to attenuate surface wave energy from 1 to 20 GHz. Standard formulations utilize a silicone matrix, but other elastomeric binders are available to support applications with unique environmental requirements.

Low Frequency

Wavexorb Low Frequency Absorbers are the thinnest and lightest formulations within our product range, and are formulated with unique magnetic fillers to provide high permeability in the lower frequency range of 500MHz to 3GHz. Designed to be applied to a metal surface or directly over a noisy circuit, each material is available in sheet and can be fabricated into application specific shapes.
